New Building

Our kids are extraordinary. Sometimes we have ones that go above and beyond their school work. Check out this research article submitted by one of our students:

With the variety of garage openers available today, how to choose garage opener may be considered to be a confusing task. People usually ask local experts like garage door experts abc to find out heir best options. However, one of the main considerations based on this decision should be based on the type of drive that is associated with the belt, chain as well as the mechanism that operates the door. In certain instances, the motor and its horsepower output may be important but more for industrial and commercial settings. Below are a few top tips you can use to choose the right garage-door opener for your needs.

Capture2

The Drive Options

Chain-drive openers are typically the more cost-

Effective choice and are considered to be the more durable and popular openers available today. These types of drivers make use of metal chains on sprockets that will lower and lift the door. These chain openers tend to be a more affordable option, but, the strength along with the affordability factors are opposed by the noise these garage openers make.

The chain drives have been suggested for use in garage doors that are heavy as well as heavily insulated, one-piece wooden doors and oversized doors. The upgraded models are now available with chain-separators that assist in stopping the chain from making a noise against a track and have the ability to decrease the chain drive noises.

Screw-drive Openers

Another useful tip on how to choose garage opener would be a screw drive that consists of a metal rod that is threaded just like-a-screw to close and lift the door. Due to the fact that there are minimal moving parts, the screw-drive is usually a reliable option to consider. If the noise of a garage opener is of great concern to you, then the screw-drive option is rated as the middle in the pack. These are not as quiet as a direct or belt drive, but are far quieter than a chain drive.

These screw-drives require more maintenance when compared to the additional types. Regardless of having less moving parts, the metal, threaded rod meshes against a section on the drive that has plastic teeth that catch this threading. Without the correct lubrication, the rod wears out on the teeth and eventually strips the rod.

The garage door type that you own is another important consideration. If you have a one-piece wooden door the strain will easily wear the inner works and teeth on the drive. This means that the screw-drives are more effective with single garage or steel doors.

Belt Drive Openers

These openers utilize a rubber-like or rubber belt positioned on cogs to close and open the door. Due to the fact that these openers do not have metal parts, it has been regarded as the softest option available.

You may find that certain openers will open faster when compared to others, but every garage door will close at 7” in a second that is related to a safety requirement feature. In order to stop accidental damage or injury, every garage door opener must feature a reversing-mechanism that will be activated when the beam has been interrupted.

New Building

We asked for some recommendations on a few of the issues with the new building, and we want to say thanks to Amanda who recommended the Air Repair Pros to fix our air conditioning. This company is amazing. They were able to get us an appointment on the same day that we called them, but we waited until the following day since it was not an emergency. They gave us a call before showing up to alert us that they were coming so that we would have a staff member ready to show them around the place. They provided a diagnostic inspection for an extremely cheap price. After he diagnosed the issue, he came back to us and explained the problem thoroughly. He gave us a quote of the approximate price, which we accepted, and he took the diagnostic inspection price off of our total charge!

The Air Repair Pros

He was able to get our system back on line quickly, and without much hassle. It turned out that we had a broken belt, which he was able to replace easily. The system is getting old, as even though this is our “new” building, we just mean it is new to us. However, after having the floors replaced and our air conditioning back up and running, it feels plenty new to us! Our offices are finally starting to look like offices again. Everything is back in its place.

If you haven’t stopped by and visited the new building yet, please do so! We would be happy to show you around. Also, please remember that the deadline for submitting your graduation papers is approaching. Be sure to fill it out and get it in before the deadline to make sure that you walk on graduation day with the rest of your class. This is extremely important!

We sure are glad to have our air conditioning working. It was starting to get a little too warm in our offices. We want to thank the Air Repair Pros once again, and please show them your support as well if your home’s air conditioning needs any sort of repair. The Air Repair Pros proved what excellent customer service can really mean. Now I see why you recommended them Amanda! Consider this as a glowing review from us as well!

General

Home schooled students typically score between 15 and 30 percentile points above public school students on standardized academic achievement tests.

The amount of students in home education is close to 2,500,000 and growing 2-8% every year.

Home schooled students are about 9% more likely to graduate college.

Do we have your attention now?

We strongly believe that home education is a great route, if both the parent and child put in the necessary effort. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap. Galations 6:7-9.

Every state allows you to homeschool your children. However, each state has different rules and regulations. Your child may still have to take a required curriculum, or they may have to take standardized testing. Please consult your state’s Board of Education for more information.

Many school districts will help support you and other home schoolers, by providing textbooks, or rooms to meet in. There is almost always at least one home schooling network in every county. These networks can help you by allowing you to meet with other home educators and swap information and compare lesson plans. The children can meet and gain more social interaction to improve their lives. These networks are a powerful tool, please take advantage of them when you can.

One of the biggest advantage of home education, is the ability to add or change the curriculum. While there are certain standards that a student must meet, there are also varying degrees of flexibility. For instance, one of our students started White Glove Windshields, a windshield replacement company, and is very successful. He started learning skills while studying at home. Many “blue collar” careers are lucrative and something to be proud of. We highly encourage parents to pursue varying arrays of subjects.

There are even online classes and curriculum that can help get you started with home education. Many top colleges such as Harvard and MIT have what they call “opencourseware”, where you can access recorded lessons straight from their classes. You can give your child an ivy league education for free! There are also many other programs available to help you keep your child on track. That is one of the benefits of home education: Your child can learn at their pace. If they are falling behind in an area, you can change the teaching method. If they are excelling in another area, you can give them more coursework and keep them interested.

If you are interested in starting home education with your child, please contact us today, and we will be happy to help you get the ball rolling, and you child on a path to greatness.

New Building

Well our new building is finally ready after all this time! The hardwood floors were installed by The Flooring Pro Guys, and they did a fantastic job, so here is a shout out to them. The installation was quick and went really smoothly. They were able to work around our schedule and get it done before we moved in. We really appreciate the hard work that this team put into our building. Please show them your appreciation and support; if you are interested in new flooring in your home, call and ask them for a quote and walk through. You won’t be disappointed. Our new floors are beautiful, and ready for everyone to enjoy!

We started moving all of our equipment in about a week ago, and we have our offices setup for the most part. We still have some issues that need to be addressed about the building, so please let us know if you can recommend anyone. Luckily, it hasn’t been too hot yet, so it is not an emergency. Our building is still quite comfortable, so please do come check us out.

Our current offices may change, so we do not have a directory listing just yet. If you have any trouble finding us, just give us a call and we can give you directions. If you are currently a member, we will send emails, as well as directory listings out as soon as we have them together. Please be patient with us as we make the switch over. If you have experience any delays in processing, rest assured that we are working out hardest to keep on top of things and keep everything up-to-date.

As we come closer to the end of the school year, remember to submit your qualifying education hours for approval. If you are graduating this year, please fill out 2016 Graduation Approval form before the end of April! This will ensure that you can walk with the rest of your class on graduation day. If you fail to submit your graduation approval form by the deadline, you will not walk with your class, and your diploma will be mailed to your home.

diploma

You can order your cap and gown on the 2016 Graduation Approval form as well. Please do not forget to indicate your sizing! If you submit your form by the deadline, you will have enough time to try on your gown, and if it does not fit, we can send it back for a different size.

To the parents: We are always proud of you for making the effort to improve your children’s lives through home schooling. After 18 years, it is time to celebrate! Enjoy reminiscing about your successes and failures. We know it is not always easy to educate your children, as they can put up quite the fight! However, it is always worth it in the end. However, we know it can be hard to let go after all these years. If you would like any sort of counseling, or if you need more information about college, please contact us and we will be happy to help! Congratulations on another great year!

Christianity

The major challenges experienced by Christians in the modern day world are newer, but still come up from time to time. Most of these sins were unheard of in the olden days and are also very different from what was considered to be sin in the 1960s’ socio-sexual revolution. Take note, however, that not every individual who appears on this article’s example of Christian leaders was a pastor or preacher for that matter.

The Modern Day Christian LeadersSlickly produced videos in the early 21st century indicated many Christian martyrdoms, handled and controlled by fanatics who claimed to act in the name of Islam. As such, this can be referred to as some form of a return of the medieval wars that initially existed between the two denominations. Our present day technology, therefore, allows millions of people to access such atrocities in a matter of hours.

At a time when a newly elected pope is determined to launch the redemption of the church’s moral, traditional teachings as well as establish an American free market, he is likely to experience much resistance from the very same church he governs. For this reason, Cardinal Raymond Burke prominently features on our list of the top ten Christian leaders in American.

Despite the fact that entertainment superstars and sports stars are not considered to be religious men and women. Their influence on the vast majority which is more than that of evangelists and pastors can’t go unnoticed. The reality TV series “A.D The Bible Continues” and “The Bible” produced by Roma Downey and Mark Burnett respectively, have managed to revolutionize the Christian entertainment scenes.

It is not surprising to find some stand-up comedians making faces on numerous lists of great Christians. They are more directed towards keeping their audience in an active and involved state, which is highly distinguishable from many other preachers and evangelists who become so dull in the middle of their sermons.

The internet is a powerful tool in the present day generation. The numerous books and eBooks downloaded on a day to day basis have far much greater influence than ever. Authors like Grace and Mark Driscoll target and reach out to millions of couple who are in troubled marriages without Christian evangelism. They feature on our list because they manage to reach out to those individuals who are being neglected by many present day ministers.

There exist some idea leaders whose political ambitions are driven by their Christianity to make a drastic impact on the people they lead. Alan Sears for example, of the Reagan Justice Department. The same applies to most other compelling preachers like Caldwell Kirbyjon, who started with a small congregation in a room to a magnitude that overwhelms a stadium.

In the modern day society, accepting Christ and committing sin are two independent practices that are determined just by sitting on a computer screen for a given period. In response to this, the new world is bringing up Christians and Christian leaders from least expected walks of life.

Christianity

Christian_denominations

Christianity is the most followed religion in the world, and it is no different in the United States of America. 70.6% of American adults identify themselves as Christians. They are divided among more than 35 Christian denominations.
According to the “American Religious Identification Survey” conducted in 2001 by the University of New York, this is the list of the ten largest Christian denominations in America.

  1. Catholic

With a staggering membership size of 50,873,000, the Catholics are the largest denomination in America. Catholics are conducted by ‘The Roman Catholic Church’ which is headed by the Pope, currently held by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.

The Roman Catholic Church believes that the Jesus Christ himself founded it.

  1. Baptist

The Baptist compromises of one of the most diverse and largest groupings of Christians in the United States. Baptists are bound together by an amazingly strong allegiance to certain principles and doctrines based on the competency of each in the matters of faith.

While their ideas may differ but Baptist agree on the principles which are as follows
    A) the inspiration and integrity of the Bible as the sole rule of life.
    B) the lordship of Jesus Christ
    C) freedom to a person to approach God for themselves
    D) the granting of salvation by the way of grace and contact with the Holy Spirit

They have a membership size of 33,830,000 people.

  2. Christian – no denomination supplied

The people who believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ are known as Christians. They compromise of 14,190,000 followers in the States.

  3. Methodist / Wesleyan

With a vast followership of 14,150,000 members, the Methodist reflects critically on their biblical and theological inheritance to bear a faithful Christian witness to Jesus Christ.

Two considerations are central to their endeavor: the sources from which they derive their theological affirmations and the criteria by which they assess the adequacy of their understanding and witness.

  4. Lutheran

Lutheranism owns much of their tradition to the ancient and medieval church. It includes a sense of participation in the historical people of God and the traditional liturgy. Lutherans are devoted to an incredible doctrine systematically developed and expressed in thepreaching of the divine.

Lutherans’ faith does not lie with the church but their utter trust in Christ. According to Lutherans, the Bible is inspired by the word given by the God and the standard of faith and practice. They boast a followership of 9,580,000 people.

  5. Presbyterian

Presbyterians can trace their history from the sixteenth century ‘Protestant Reformation’. Their heritage began with the French lawyer John Calvin (1509-1564), whose writings formed the Reformed thinking.

Presbyterians differ from the other denominations in two significant ways: first, they follow a pattern of religious thought which is called the Reformed theology, and secondly they adhere to a form of government that motivates the leadership of both ministers and church members. They constitute of 5,596,000 followers.

  6. Protestant

Protestantism belongs to one of the three primary branches of Christianity. The term ‘Protestant’ refers to a diverse range of theological and social perspectives along with denominations as well as related organizations.

Protestants do not belong to any definite set of Christianity and have their roots in the Protestant reform that took place in Europe in the 16th century.
They have a membership size of 4,647,000.

  7. Pentecostal

Pentecostalism is one of the modern American Christian Movement that made its way out of the Holiness movement at the turn of the 20th century.

Most of the ‘Pentecostal’ churches are theologically and socially conservative. Pentecostals have a belief in the evangelical tradition, and they teach that the Holy Spirit continues to act in the same way as it did at the time of the first Pentecost. They also believe that contemporary Christians can also receive the spiritual gifts that the apostles did! They also have a large followership base of 4,407,000 Americans.

  8. Episcopalian/Anglican

The Episcopal Church traces its origin the Anglican Church a.k.a. The Church of England, which break off its allegiance to the papacy during the Protestant Reformation.

There are two mysteries; Baptism and the Eucharist, which are recognized by the Episcopal The church even knows a religious character in confirmation, confession, marriage and the anointing of the sick. A population of 3,451,000 believes in this denomination.

  9. Mormon / Latter-Day Saints

They have a membership size of 2,787,000 people. They believe that God is their heavenly father. He loves them and wants them to return to him. Among their many believes some are that the Jesus Christ is the son of God and their Savior and through the satisfaction of Jesus they can return to live with God if they keep his commandments.

As we come to the close of another school year, we want to thank all of the parents out there who sincerely care about their children’s well-being. Without you, our children would grow up not knowing what it means to have someone to trust. Home educators, you make the world a better place, whether or not you realize it. Without you, we wouldn’t have the opportunity to serve.

We always take the time to stop and look back at what we have accomplished over the past year, and we suggest you do the same. Our biggest, most recent accomplishment was moving into the new building. Although it was a time-intensive project, it was really worth it. Just like the years of raising our kids and teaching them about life and the things they need to know, its all worth it. We encourage you to sit down and just talk with your kids. Look back on the past year. Ask them questions about what they thought about the experience, and what they hope to accomplish next year. Let them ask you the same questions. Trust us, it will be worth it.

Is your child interested in attending college? If so, do they know why they want to attend college? We think the answer to this question has a lot to do with whether a person will succeed and enjoy college, or regret the decision. We have guidance counselors available if you would like help discussing this, and all of your options for higher education. Remember, college is just one piece of a puzzle, and it may not fit into your puzzle! Please come by and see us anytime, and we can help you make some of those tougher decisions.

They say our children are our future. We believe that to be true, and home educators, you make the world a better place, one child at a time.

We couldn’t have done it without you!

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential and that this salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and not as a result of good works.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to perform good works.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto resurrection of Life; they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
